Safety Competition: Gold Fields, Chirano, Golden Star Wassa and Perseus in finals

The die is cast for the grand finale of the National Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Competition following the qualification of Gold Fields Ghana, Tarkwa Mine from Zone III to join Golden Star Wassa Ltd, Chirano Gold Mines and Perseus Mining. The national contest will be in two folds – oral and practical – to be held on Sunday, 23rd October, 2016 and Saturday, 5th November, 2016 respectively.

The Community First Aid and Safety Brigades from Golden Star Bogoso/Prestea, Ghana Manganese Company, Newmont Golden Ridge Akyem and Perseus Mining will also lock horns to determine who wins the national award for best performing community brigades.

The competition will see the winners and second runners-up in the Basic Schools Safety and First Aid Essay Competition from Newmont Golden Ridge, Golden Star Bogoso/Prestea, Ghana Manganese Company and Persues Mining in the national contest to determine the National Essay Champion.

The Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Competition  is an annual event organised under the auspices of the Ghana Chamber of Mines and the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission with support from St. John Ambulance.
