Golden Star Wassa Ltd. emerged victorious in the fiercely contested 2025 Zone II Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Oral Competition, held at the What Do You Know studios of GTV on 10th August 2025.
The Zone II contest featured Adamus Resources Ltd., Zijin Golden Ridge Ltd., Abosso Gold Fields Ltd., and Newmont Ahafo North Mine. Each team demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and in-depth knowledge of first aid protocols, occupational health, safety standards, and the Minerals and Mining Act.
This year’s Zone II competition was hosted by Adamus Resources Ltd., providing a platform for participating mines to test their preparedness and share best practices in workplace safety and emergency response. The event is part of the Ghana Chamber of Mines’ long-standing initiative to promote safety excellence across the mining sector.
In a display of composure and expertise, Golden Star Wassa Ltd. outperformed the competition, earning the coveted top spot for the zone. Their achievement underscores the company’s commitment to upholding the highest health and safety standards, protecting workers, and fostering a culture of preparedness in the mining industry.
