The Ghana Chamber of Mines congratulates Golden Star Wassa Limited for emerging as the overall champion of the 2025 National Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Competition, marking an impressive third consecutive victory in the national contest.
Golden Star Wassa distinguished itself by winning both the practical and oral sessions of the 2025 competition, demonstrating exceptional preparedness, technical skill, and teamwork despite a strong push from other competing teams. The event featured spirited performances from Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, and AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine, each exhibiting commendable mastery in first aid, emergency response, and mine safety management.
The oral session took place on Sunday, 2nd November 2025, at the “What Do You Know” Studios of GTV in Accra, following earlier rounds of rigorous practical demonstrations held at the regional level. The competition continues to serve as one of the mining sector’s most respected platforms for testing and celebrating excellence in safety and emergency preparedness.
Organised annually by the Ghana Chamber of Mines in collaboration with the Minerals Commission and St. John Ambulance, the Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Competition forms part of the Chamber’s broader commitment to promoting occupational health and safety excellence across the mining industry. It provides a platform for mining companies to showcase their readiness, teamwork, and adherence to global best practices in safety and emergency management.
