The leadership of the Ghana Chamber of Mines on Thursday, 14th August 2025, laid a wreath in solemn tribute to the eight lives lost in the tragic helicopter crash of 6th August 2025.

In a brief but moving ceremony, the Chamber expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Ghana, and all loved ones affected by the tragedy.

“This is a moment of profound sadness for our nation,” said Mr. Michael Edem Akafia, President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines. “We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and share in their grief. The memories of those we have lost will forever remain in our hearts.”

The Chamber further pledged to contribute to the welfare fund to be established by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama to provide support to the bereaved families.

“In honour of their memory, we are committed to joining hands with the Government and all stakeholders to ensure the bereaved receive the care and support they need during this difficult time,” Mr. Akafia added.

The Ghana Chamber of Mines reaffirms its unwavering compassion and solidarity with the people of Ghana in this period of national mourning.
