CAPITAL GOES WHERE CONFIDENCE LIVES

Last week, I reflected on the extraordinary concentration of gold beneath our land. This week, the more consequential question is this: what determines whether capital chooses to stay and build upon it?

Capital does not move randomly.

It moves toward confidence.

And away from uncertainty.

Every major mining investment today competes globally for allocation within a finite pool of capital.

Investment committees do not ask only:
“Where is the resource?”

They ask:
“Where is the predictability?”

Capital is mobile by design

The same capital that can build a mine in Ghana can deploy just as readily in Australia, Canada, or the United States.

✅️ Geology creates eligibility.

✅️ Confidence determines selection.

Time changes the equation

Mining is not a short-cycle investment.

From discovery to production can span decades.

Capital must trust that the frameworks governing its investment today will remain sufficiently consistent tomorrow.

Where durability exists, capital deepens its commitment.

Where uncertainty persists, capital limits its exposure.

🔹 Competitiveness is institutional

Mineral endowment cannot be relocated.

Capital can.

This places a premium on institutional strength — clarity of framework, reliability of agreements, and alignment between national interest and investor confidence.

✔️ This is not about favouring capital.

✔️ It is about competing for it.

Ghana does not compete on geology alone.

It competes on credibility.

And credibility is built through consistency.

Capital goes where confidence lives.

Confidence lives where consistency endures.
